Hey guys! I hope you all had a great valentines day. To those who are alone. So what? Single? ‘Unloved’? So? The thing about valentines day is that its not only about accepting love, but its about giving love too! No, it doesn’t have to be the lovey-dovey kind of love, but love of all sorts.
It can be the love in friendships, the love in family, pet love, love for your neighbor, love for yourself, or even love for some stranger who you see walk down the same street every morning you go to school or work. Its a day where it won’t be random to tell someone you really really love them and are grateful for them. Connect and expand your heart to the people around you and offer what you can. Its a day where you can choose to remind yourself of all the people who love you and can be loved by you!
Valentines day deep breaths!!
-Sit down in a comfortable sitting position with your arms on your thighs. Follow your breath for a few counts and see where it takes you. If your thoughts start to stray, gently bring them back to your breath.
- When you feel all warmed up, Take a breath in for four counts and exhale for 8. Do this for at least 2 minutes or more if you’re an expert.
- When you’re done, inhale your arms all the way above your head and put your palms together in front of your chest, thumbs at your heart. Feel you heart beating for you. You are alive, well, safe and loved.
I have come up with the most delicious and mind blowing flavored oil! I love using it in roasts, on pizza, as salad dressing etc….its the ultimate flavor bomb!
For the oil
what you’ll need:
1 cup olive oil
3 teaspoons thyme
3 tablespoons of birds eye chili
2 tsp rosemary
2 cloves of chopped garlic
1 lemon zest
what to do:
mix everything in a jar and leave overnight to soak and have it all become one yummy flavor bomb.
use for everything!
I love roasted veggies! For this i used eggplant, peppers, tempeh, zucchini, garlic, onion, tuna and egg (leave out the tuna and egg part if you want), and carrots.
So I was watching Sherlock. I LOVE that tv series, he’s like Sheldon Cooper, and one of the things he said was “John, you see things, but you don’t observe them”.
This made me think, everything around us, we see, but we don’t observe. We see the sun come up every morning and sets every evening, but we don’t actually see how the fine lines break the morning sky and how it illuminates everything. The rays, spectrums, of the sun engulfs all darkness bit by bit. We see our loved ones or our friends being loving. But we don’t see the sparkle in their eyes. Their laughter, pure. The way they are so comfortable because they know that they are safe. Every Thanksgiving or family meal we have, our parents, grandparents, spouse, helper, cook the family a delicious and nourishing meal. But we don’t see the things that happen backstage; how they slave away trying to make the meal perfect, how everything they do is made with love.
We take so many things for granted everyday and become so attached to the little things that annoy us rather than see the big picture of what surrounds us. We are so loved and so blessed, we have enough. I hope each and everyone of you guys realize how much love there is in the world, go out and look for it! Fall in love everyday, either with yourself or someone. Look for the perks in people rather than what you don’t like about them.
Everyday may not be good, but there is good in everyday. :)
The new hype I’ve been noticing floating around Instagram is scrubs. Franks body scrub, to be exact. It’s a scrub made out of coffee and other ingredients to help reduce cellulite and tighten up the skin.
I created my own cheaper version of it that I find do give results and leave you feeling moisturized, fresh, and smelling great as its packed with anti oxidants and great stuff! Try it out and I hope you love it as much as I do!
What you’ll need:
1 cup of ground coffee (either blend some up yourself or buy those pre-blended ones)
1/3 cup coconut oil
1/3 cup olive oil
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup salt
5 tablespoons of sweet almond oil, if you have some, don’t worry about it if you don’t! :)
Mix it all up and store it in a jar or a resealable plastic bag.
You’ll probably only end up using 2 handfuls while scrubbing, the leftovers will last if you keep them as dry as possible and away from sunlight. Leave the scrub on yo bodeh for about 5-10 minutes.
Coconut oil- Keeps tan longer, protects against sun damage, its moisturizing effect is great for dry and rough skin, and it is said to possess anti-bacterial properties that clean off the dirt and grime on our skin to keep it fresh.
Olive oil- great for treating inflammatory skin such as psoriasis, dermatitis, and eczema. It also protects your skin against damaging UV rays and it has anti microbial properties (prevents skin infections).
Salt- detoxifies, exfoliates, kills bacteria and helps with skin regeneration
Coffee- caffeine redistributes fat cells; thus reduces cellulite, stretch marks etc… The caffeine also stimulates blood flow, which rejuvenated skin.
Sugar- keeps moisture within skin, breaks down the ‘glue’ that bonds skin cells together so they will turnover and become fresher and newer.
p.s not saying anything about Franks body scrub, i would love to try it but I’m sort of broke. haha. plus i love going to the farmers market and have them grind me up fresh coffee!
Confidence is, to me, one of the most sexiest qualities a girl can have! By being confident in your own skin, you own everything you do, and guys dig it. ;)
Confidence is something everyone has, but is suppressed by external forces, making you believe that who you are is not really you, when that is completely false! I’ve met models who, although are told constantly that they are beautiful, are the most self conscious people i know because of the industry telling them how they should act and all the constant pressure they have going on. The word ‘model’ usually makes people think beautiful, skinny women or good looking, chiseled men. This always bugs me as there are lots of people who suffer from metal illnesses trying to achieve that ‘look’ thats being put out there; thus making people less and less safe in their own skin.
i want to encourage everyone of you seeing this to appreciate what you’ve got. Here are some things you may find useful in your life or helpful when encouraging others to do the same :)
SMILE OFTEN- Smiling, even though its force, makes your brain think it is genuinely happy and gives you that instant glow. It also gives you that immediate boost!
LAUGH- at yourself and do so constantly! Do not let others bring YOU down. Its your body. Embrace your flaws. If someone points something out about you, don’t agree with them. Acknowledge it and be able to laugh with them! Don’t let them tell you what defines you and then go home feeling bad about what happened. Laugh! They’ll see you as a good sport and also by doing so, you’ll learn so much more about yourself.
STAND UP FOR YOURSELF- If what someone said about you is really not nice and not something to laugh about, point it out to them, do NOT give them the power to bring you down! If you’re dealing with a regular ‘mean girl’ or someone who picks on everyone, talk to her and stand up for yourself and others when she does so. You’re probably helping more people than you know as they are usually as afraid of her as you are/were. When i was in middle school, there was a certain girl who would pick on someone everyday and I’d hate going to school cause i dreaded the way she would call me out in front of everyone. I’d go home and cry until my parents sat me down and gave me a talk on how i should deal with this. So the very next day, as soon as she picked on me, i told her that this is not the way she should be treating others and this is not how you make friends. The people around her were only her friends because they were intimidated by her. She immediately said sorry and walked away. After school, i went to talk to her and told her that its ok for what she has already done, its the past and that from this day onwards, she should focus on treating others nicely and looking at the more positive aspects of people. After that day, we became friends and she made REAL friends who loved her for who she truly is.
ACKNOWLEDGE- Your flaws, body and everything else about you! Since there is only one you, and you are living in you, Might as well love and accept yourself unconditionally. Know your weaknesses and learn to love em or change em! You’ve got the power to do whatever you want to do with yourself!
STOP COMPARING- yourself to others. You are you. No less.

This cheesecake isn’t really a cheesecake i guess. I did not use any cream cheese but instead used yogurt. Its a lot lighter, but i think it tastes a lot better! Its really easy so try it out and let me know how it goes! :)
-For the Crust-
3/4 cup almond flour
3/4 cup crushed almonds
3 tbsp coconut oil
a pinch of salt
-For the Filling-
2 cups of Vegan Yogurt
2 eggs or one egg replacer (like Ener-G)
1 Tbsp cornstarch
3 tbsp coconut sugar or stevia
Zest of one lemon
1 tbsp lemon juice
Anything you want! :)
What to do?
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees celsius.
Mix everything up for the crust and press into the bottom of an 8 inch springform pan. (Use non-stick! sooo much easier)
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes and let cool.
Combine everything for the filling except eggs.
Add egg in one at a time.
Pour into pan and bake for 35 minutes. The sides should sort of pull away but it does not look ‘done’ done. The middle should be jiggly and it should have a slightly wet look to it.
While the cake is cooling, make the topping. Cut strawberries or any other fruit into slices, arrange on top and drizzle melted chocolate on top! Get creative with toppings! I’d love to see what you come up with :)
My mom ate that slice before I could take a picture of the whole thing, hahaha.
